When you create an account, we collect:
- Name and email address
- Optional: location, payment handles (Venmo, PayPal, Cash App, crypto wallet)
- Shipping name and address (when placing orders)
2. How We Use Your Data
- To operate your account and display your profile to potential buyers/sellers
- To facilitate the Handshake™ verification process
- To display seller payment methods to buyers on item pages
- To communicate about orders and disputes
3. What We Don't Do
- We do not sell or share your data with third parties
- We do not run analytics or tracking scripts
- We do not process or store payment card information
- We do not use cookies for advertising
4. Payment Information
Payments are made directly between buyers and sellers. lovebeing displays the seller's chosen payment handles (e.g., Venmo username) but does not process, store, or have access to actual payment transactions.
5. Handshake Keys
When an order is created, split verification keys are generated. Key-A is stored (hashed) on our servers and shared with the seller. Key-B is shown once to the buyer and not stored in plaintext. After successful verification, all plaintext keys are deleted.
6. Data Retention
Account data is retained as long as your account is active. Order history and ownership provenance are retained indefinitely to maintain the integrity of the ownership chain. You may request account deletion by contacting us.
7. Security
We use industry-standard encryption (bcrypt) for key hashing and secure HTTPS connections. Passwords are never stored in plaintext. All API routes are authenticated with server-side session validation.
8. Your Rights
You can update or delete your account information at any time through your profile settings. For data deletion requests, contact us through the Platform.
9. Changes
We may update this policy as needed. Significant changes will be noted on the Platform.
